Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Jackson, TN 38301 (West Tennessee healthcare jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Unit : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg)

Shift : 12-hour day shifts

Assignment Duration : 13-week contract

Start Date : November 3, 2025

Number of Openings : 5 Med / Surg RN positions

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680 - $1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)

BLS Certification (required before first shift)

ACLS Certification (required before first shift)

Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Med / Surg or acute care setting

Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Previous travel nursing experience preferred, but not required

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized patient care plans

Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the Medical-Surgical unit

Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new healthcare team members

Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient rehabilitation programs

Initiate discharge planning and provide patient education starting at admission

Promote a safe environment by following hospital safety policies and clinical best practices

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care

Provide leadership and serve as charge nurse as needed after orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and foster a positive, collaborative team environment
