Insurance Verification Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated Insurance Verification Supervisor to join our team. This position services patient needs by verifying insurance coverage. Performs administrative activities associated with maintenance of medical documentation and medical records.
In the State of NY this position pays $64,350. Outside of NY, starts at $43,888+ based on experience.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Answers questions from customers, clerical staff, insurance companies, and physician offices
- Assures member's insurance policies (past and present) are accurately reflected in the AS400
- Demonstrates knowledge of insurance plan guidelines and the use of electronic systems for verification purposes
- Explains and collects co-pays, deductibles and other patient balances when needed
- Identifies and resolved patient complaints
- Makes patients fully aware of financial obligations and eligibility for programs that may provide financial aid
- Provide patient education regarding third-party coverage and liabilities
- Reviews and approves documentation received by third parties, for submission to payer's for reimbursement of orders shipped
- Updates tracking system with accurate and relevant information
- Uses electronic systems and payer websites for verification of insurance, authorizations, and referrals
- Verify customer benefits via phone, fax, and / or web portal
- Performs other duties as assigned
