Entry-Level Design Engineer
We’re partnering with a well-established manufacturer in the Rocky Hill area to hire an Entry-Level Design Engineer to support the design of motor control circuits. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on design experience and grow within a collaborative engineering environment.
Offering a base salary of $60,000 with profit sharing and 401k with company match after 90 days.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare detailed drawings and designs for motor control circuits based on customer specifications
- Use AutoCAD to produce layouts, working drawings, and design documentation
- Coordinate electrical, mechanical, and structural aspects of motor control designs
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and assign part numbers per job specifications
- Develop quotations in collaboration with internal teams
- Partner closely with sales and production throughout the design lifecycle
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical support as needed
- Support continuous improvement of design and documentation processes
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Computer Science or similar considered), or equivalent hands-on experience
- Entry-level to 1–2 years of related design, drafting, or engineering experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD / CAD software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical specifications
- Solid math and problem-solving skills (geometry, trigonometry, ratios, proportions)
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and production teams
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Tools & Technology
- AutoCAD
- ERP system experience (Infor/Visual a plus)
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
