The Production Control Manager II is responsible for overseeing material movement within the manufacturing environment, efficient planning and scheduling of work for operations, and managing all PIT personnel and Quality Technicians.
As a member of the Site Leadership Team, this position leads the organization's efforts and passion around pursuing zero defects and promoting the practices to achieve the best processes leading the Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Control, Planning & Scheduling, and Quality teams towards world-class performance while considering the customer, Associates, and use of the Zurn Elkay Business System.
- Oversee production planning department ensuring alignment with operational needs
- Implement and sustain Planner metrics ensuring good internal and external customer experience
- Build capacity plan for operations
- Establish standard lead times
- Drive OTD metrics to achieve 95% delivery to customer requests
- Drive daily meetings and ensure alignment throughout operations teams
- Develop, monitor, and advise on the performance of the quality management system
- Ensures the implementation, proper execution, and maintenance of quality control plans and procedures
Qualifications
5+ years production planning / scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment2+ years experience implementing and managing quality systems and teams2+ years of supplier quality experience including new supplier onboarding through the PPAP process, problem resolution in collaboration with the supplier and ensuring internal adherence to quality standardsBachelor's degree strongly preferred, will consider equivalent combination of education and experienceLean and / or Six Sigma experience highly preferredExperience analyzing data using spreadsheet applications and leveraging data to drive fact-based decision making and process improvementPrevious experience managing PIT personnel and safety programs / requirementsAbility to use and work effectively with ERP / MRP systemsKnowledge and experience using lean manufacturing conceptsProficient with MS Office productsStrong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindsetExcellent oral and written communication skillsOrganized with high attention to detailCustomer first commitmentAble to engage effectively in a team environment and successfully navigate relationships with direct reports, peers, and leadershipAble to follow processes, make timely, sound decisions, prioritize, manage time effectively, and learn quicklyAble to work flexible hours including OT and weekends on an occasional basisExtremely strong leadership skills including presentation, project management, multi-tasking, and influencingTotal Rewards and Benefits
