- Analyzing diagnostic test results.
- Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle lighting systems.
- Learning and understanding DOT and vehicle safety criteria.
- Performing preventative maintenance at service intervals.
- Use shop computer tracking system for job data input and hourly tracking.
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
Preferred Requirements
- Degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive repair or 5 years minimum experience with heavy trucks and equipment maintenance.
- Proficient in general repairs for tractor trailer commercial vehicles.
- ASE Diesel Certification advantageous.
- Valid driver's license
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
- Good IT and diagnostic skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Good organization skills.
