Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Our Respiratory Therapist (RRT) team plays a vital role in ensuring residents with respiratory conditions receive the best possible care to promote comfort, safety and quality of life. The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for performing respiratory care procedures and treatments for residents with chronic or acute respiratory conditions in accordance with physician orders, facility policies and regulatory guidelines. This position works closely with nursing, medical staff and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized card plans.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform assessments and provide respiratory care treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, ventilator management, and other related procedures as the Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Monitor resident status and response to therapy, report changes to the physician and care team promptly.
Maintain, clean, and calibrate respiratory therapy equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Instruct residents, families, and staff on respiratory equipment use and breathing techniques as appropriate.
Document all treatments, observations, and resident responses accurately and in a timely manner.
Participate in care plan meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
Adhere to infection control, safety, and privacy policies.
Maintain current knowledge of respiratory therapy best practices and regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Respiratory Therapy Director.
Compensation and Schedule
Full Time - Night shift
Skills and Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of Ohio.
Current BLS certification required
Previous experience in a long-term care, sub-acute, or acute care setting preferred.
Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
