Future Tech is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead and own the entire data stack, enabling conversational analytics and actionable business insights.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining data pipelines from on-premise ERP systems through Google Cloud (BigQuery, Dataflow) to Looker.
As the sole data engineer, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our analytics platform while collaborating closely with business stakeholders.
This is a U.S.-based remote position. The work hours are Monday - Friday, 8 :
- 30a -5 : 30p Eastern time. Our Benefits offerings include Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401k with company match, and PTO.
- This position has responsibilities that include working with a government contractor; therefore, U.S. citizenship is required. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) pipelines from ERP / SQL sources into BigQuery.
- Administer and optimize Google Cloud Assured Workload FedRAMP environment, including Dataflow, Data Transfer Service, and BigQuery.
- Develop and maintain LookML semantic models to support self-service analytics and conversational analysis in Looker.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all systems.
- Collaborate with business teams to translate reporting needs into scalable data models.
- Monitor system performance, optimize queries, and automate workflows.
Own the full data lifecycle :
ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, and visualization.Qualifications & Requirements 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform tools :
