Medical Billing Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this long-term contract role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely handling of medical billing processes, claims, and collections. This position offers the opportunity to support healthcare operations by maintaining compliance and efficiency in financial transactions.

Responsibilities :

• Process medical claims and ensure timely submission to insurance providers.
• Review and verify billing information for accuracy and completeness.
• Handle collections and follow-up on outstanding payments from patients and insurance companies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies in billing and coding.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and billing standards.
• Utilize medical coding systems to accurately categorize procedures and diagnoses.
• Monitor claim denials and appeals, taking appropriate action to resolve issues.
• Prepare detailed reports on billing activities and financial performance.
• Communicate with patients to provide clarity on billing inquiries and payment options.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive patient and financial information. Requirements - Proven experience in medical billing, claims processing, and collections.
• Familiarity with medical coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
• Proficient in using billing software and related tools.
• Problem-solving skills to manage claim denials and discrepancies.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
