Job descriptionConduct evaluations using DSM criteria Determine appropriate level of care using ASAM guidelines Develop and implement individualized counseling plans Adjust plans based on patient progress and reassessment Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions Deliver crisis interventions as needed Create comprehensive discharge and follow-up plans Connect patients with community-based support services Maintain accurate clinical records Ensure compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings Foster a coordinated and supportive care environment MondayFriday, 8 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM Rotational Saturday shifts (flexible; frequency decreases as team expands) Bachelors or Masters degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work (accredited institution; meets Virginia state requirements) 3+ years of experience in substance use, mental health, or related field Active Virginia licensure under 12VAC30130-5020 : LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)

About the Role
Were seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Counselor to join our behavioral health team in Newport News, Virginia. In this role, youll lead patients through their recovery journeyfrom intake to dischargeproviding evidence-based counseling and collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team. Your work will directly support individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders.
