Responsibilities Position is in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit with 200-300 births per month Shift options include 3x12 or 4x12 hour night shifts beginning at 7 : 00 PM Patient population includes high-risk obstetric cases such as pre-eclampsia, multiple gestation, placenta previa, VBAC management, and preterm labor Will float within hospital or to affiliate hospital nearby; may float to Methodist Hospital ED to provide OB-specific care alongside a primary nurse Uses Cerner EMR for charting; Cerner experience required Responsibilities include monitoring fetal heart patterns, assisting with vaginal deliveries and C-sections, postpartum care, and management of obstetric complications Required to draw venous blood, start and maintain peripheral IVs, administer blood products and emergency medications, and provide neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessments Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract Required to wear hospital-specified scrub color Free parking is provided on site Any permanent or PRN employee of IU must have a 12 month break before being eligible for travel positions First-time travelers are not accepted for this position No local candidates accepted for this assignment Up to 5 days of requested time off can be auto-approved Requirements Active IN or Compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to start Minimum of 1.5 years L&D RN experience and prior L&D travel experience required Certifications required : Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Intermediate; AWHONN may pend before start Hospital-based L&D experience required Degree must be from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE Competency with EFM, NST, IUPC placement, amnioinfusion, antihypertensive and insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and management of high-risk deliveries Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-617226.
