Were looking for an energetic, creative, and motivated individual to grow our events program while helping lead our weekend service team.
The Role
Were looking for an energetic, hospitality-driven Floor Manager to join our team. This is a front-of-house leadership role designed for someone who thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment and has a genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences. Youll support nightly service operations at One Door North , while working alongside the General Manager who oversees both One Door North and The Smoking Goat.
This hybrid role is a rare opportunity to combine event sales / coordination with hospitality leadership .
- During the week, youll focus on building and managing private events (tent reservations, buyouts, celebrations).
- On Friday and Saturday nights (and maybe Thursdays too) , youll step in as floor manager , ensuring our busy nights run smoothly and our guests receive top-notch service.
Responsibilities
Event Coordination
- Proactively generate event leads through outreach, networking, and CRM databases.
- Respond to inquiries, secure event contracts, and manage all communication with clients.
- Oversee all event logistics menus, dcor, setup, timing, and staffing.
- Execute events onsite and ensure flawless guest experiences.
Weekend Floor Management
- Lead nightly service with confidence and positivity, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Support and motivate servers, bartenders, and hosts to deliver outstanding hospitality.
- Act as a hands-on leader on the floor, resolving guest concerns and keeping energy high.
- Uphold restaurant standards for service, cleanliness, and flow of operations.
- Assist with opening / closing procedures, side work, and floor planning.
- Provide feedback to the General Manager on staff performance, guest experiences, and opportunities for improvement.
- Help foster a fun, engaged culture that makes both staff and guests feel like family.
What Were Looking For
- A vibrant, positive, can-do personality with natural leadership skills.
- Previous restaurant leadership or supervisory experience (FOH required, bar knowledge a plus).
- Strong communication and people skills; ability to coach, support, and inspire a team.
- Availability for 24 evening shifts per week with consistent engagement and reliability.
- Interest in growing into a larger management role within the restaurant group over time.
- A love for hospitality and a genuine investment in helping One Door North grow into a neighborhood and citywide favorite.
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality, restaurant, or event planning experience required.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills written, verbal, and in-person.
- Tech savvy; CRM or database experience a plus.
- Energetic, positive, and motivated to grow with the company.
Compensation
- Hourly Wage : Competitive, based on experience.
- Commission : 3% of the administrative / event fee for each event booked and executed.
- Flexible part-time hours (weekday admin + required Fri / Sat nights).
