Job Title : Lead Teacher 3 - Nisonger Center

Department : Health Sciences | Nisonger Center

Lead Teacher 3 will serve as the lead educator in an integrated classroom environment for children with and without developmental delays as part of the Nisonger Center's full day Early Childhood Program; plans and adapts curriculum for approximately 25% of children in the classroom who have developmental delays or disabilities; works closely with Early Intervention team to review and plan pathway to achieve goals of Individualized Family Service Plan for each child; oversees, integrates and monitors progress of daily and long-term planning to meet developmental and educational goals of all students; assesses children's growth and development using the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System (AEPS) Curriculum; communicates formal and informal assessment results and developmental progress of child to parents; serves as child advocate to ensure all social, emotional, physical and educational needs are met in compliance with Nisonger Center's philosophy, curriculum policies and state licensing rules; plans and executes daily activities in the classroom; develops and writes lesson plans to provide cognitive, physical, emotional and social development of children in assigned group; implements, evaluates and disseminate classroom programming, routines, policies and procedures; conducts systematic data collection and evaluates program effectivness; prepares written summaries of curriculum and children's daily educational experiences; implements health, safety and security processes and procedures; advises, instructs and supervises entry-level teachers, teaching assistants and student employees; written plans and classroom behavior; provides in-service and pre-service training for students; evaluates knowledge and performance competencies of students; participates in professional development activities and complies with continuing education requirements.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in child development or early childhood education.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in child development or early childhood educ or equivalent education & experience required; Masters desired; 2 years of relevant experience; Developmental Spec certification preferred; demonstrated classroom experience teaching children under 6 years, formal student teaching experience, or P-3 certification required; experience creating & implementing lesson plans required; experience teaching children with developmental delays required; current first aid, communicable diseases, & child abuse recognition certifications or training within 120 days of hire required; all immunizations must be up to date. Requires successful completion of Bureau of Criminal Investigation check; selected candidate will be required to complete pre-employment physical including drug screen.
