Staff Development Assistant

The Staff Development Assistant provides high-quality, compassionate care to residents while also supporting the facility's education and training programs. This dual-role position is responsible for assisting with planning, coordination, and implementation of staff development activities and ensuring clinical staff meet required competencies and ongoing training requirements. In addition to these responsibilities, the role includes working scheduled CNA / CMA shifts, providing on-the-job training to staff, and conducting training evaluations and operational audits to support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support the Staff Development Coordinator with scheduling and conducting orientation for new employees.
• Assist in developing, organizing, and presenting in-service education and mandatory training programs.
• Help maintain training records and ensure all certifications are up to date.
• Provide one-on-one coaching and skills validation as needed.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and competency checks.
• Serve as a resource for staff regarding policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Provide direct care to residents in accordance with their care plans and facility policies.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
• Monitor and report changes in resident's physical or emotional condition to nursing staff.
• Administer medications as per CMA certification and according to physician orders and facility protocol.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and medications given.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
