ER RN Job Details – Des Moines, IA Location : Des Moines, IA 50316 (Iowa healthcare jobs) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (10 / 27 / 2025 – 1 / 26 / 2026) Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Pay : $1880 - $2020 Setting : Emergency Department (18-bed ER) Weekend / Holiday : Every 4th weekend; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving) Floating : Required to float across all hospital campuses as needed Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa (Iowa RN jobs) Minimum 3 years of recent emergency room nursing experience Clinical experience with pediatric, adult, and behavioral health populations Proficient in administering sedation and vasoactive drips; skilled in tele strip reading Required certifications : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC First-time travel nurses welcome Must submit work history / resume, recent skills checklist (within 1 year), license verification, required certifications, and one supervisory reference from the past 2 years ER Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients of all ages and backgrounds Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced ER setting Administer and monitor sedation and vasoactive drips as indicated Interpret and respond to tele strips accurately Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes Float to other hospital campuses as needed to support patient care Maintain accurate documentation using the EPIC EMR system Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards Apply now to join our healthcare team as a travel ER RN in Des Moines, Iowa, and make a difference in emergency nursing!
