Patient Care Technician I, NRS, AAMC, Resource Pool, Nights
The Nursing Assistant provides compassionate patient care to a diverse age group of patients with a variety of medical and / or surgical conditions. This individual provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other patient care team members including the patient and family, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Nursing Assistant assists with activities of daily living and delegates patient care treatments and procedures. The Nursing Assistant has access to confidential patient information and carries out their assignments under the guidance of a licensed nurse.
Minimum Education Requirement
Must be a high school graduate or have a GED Diploma.
Minimum Experience Requirement
Two years prior experience in a physician office or medical setting preferred. Experience with infusion services highly desired. Strong understanding of health insurance and its impact on billing. Knowledge of the prior authorization process. Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 / CPT coding. Must be patient centered and possess excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills. Ability to be organized, work independently, exhibit mature judgement and make sound decisions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
