Qualifications

CD Tooling Specialist

Webco Industries, Southwest Tube Division, has 1 opportunity open for a CD Tooling Specialist on the following shift:

• Super Crew Nights (6pm-6am)

Qualified candidates should possess the following:

• Knowledge of and skilled in a variety of machining operations, including programming and operation of CNC equipment, mathematics and blueprint reading is required .
• Positive “Can-Do” attitude;
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused on tasks or jobs to be done;
• Must have Leadership qualities;
• Ability to work both independently and on a team;
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills;
• Skilled in reading micrometers, vernier calipers, and dial indicators and other types of measuring tools with accuracy;
• Ability to read and follow standard operating instructions in performance of job;
• Good computer skills;
• Good mechanical skills and mechanical aptitude;
• Good shop math skills (general math problems using shop applications and terms in the problems). Math skills must include the ability to do decimals, fractions and averages.
• Upon completion of training for the Cold Draw Tooling Technician position, transferring employee must have ninety days experience performing Cold Draw Tooling Technician position.
• Must be able to produce quality work;
• Ability to work diligently to supply tooling requirements in order for production to meet their goals;
• Ability to listen to, be responsive to, and communicate with internal customers (Drawbench Operators) in order to meet their needs and avoid delays and downtime in production;
• Ability to perform job in a safe and efficient manner.

This position is responsible for:

• Developing parameters and specifications and then programming Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Operating CNC machinery and grinders from dimensional drawings in order to produce dies, mandrels, and other tooling for Cold Drawn tubing operation.
• Providing Draw Bench tooling in a timely manner;
• Maintaining accurate inventory of dies, mandrels and grippers;
• Performing Final Inspections on tooling produced to ensure compliance with specification and ultimately customer satisfaction;
• Assisting with production to make the Webco Team successful;
• Performing various duties to assist other Tool & Die personnel.

Will train in the following skills:

• Operation of Okamoto grinder;
• Operation of engine lathe;
• Measuring Tools Course;
• Meet Production Planning Department’s tooling requests in a timely manner;
• Polish dies and mandrels;
• Inspection procedures for dies and mandrels.
