Emergency Medicine Physician Job Details

Position Type : Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician

Location : Belton, Missouri (Zip : 64012) – Kansas City Metro Area

Facility : 17-bed Emergency Department, Level III Trauma & Stroke Center

Annual ER Visits : 31,000

Shifts : 10 and 12-hour shifts; flexible scheduling (days, nights, weekends)

Coverage : 30-hour physician coverage Monday-Friday; 24-hour physician coverage Saturday-Sunday; 24-hour APP coverage daily

Contract Duration : 12-week contract (October 20, 2025 – January 12, 2026)

Estimated Weekly Hours : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $5780 - $6850 per week

Emergency Medicine Physician Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)

FM / IM trained physicians must have at least 2 years of recent emergency medicine experience

Active ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications required

Eligible for Missouri medical license

Minimum 1 year of emergency medicine experience

Ability to work in a busy emergency department environment

Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, nights, weekends)

Emergency Medicine Physician Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care to adult and pediatric patients

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including advanced practice providers

Respond rapidly to acute illnesses and injuries (heart attacks, strokes, trauma)

Provide care in a fast-paced emergency department with short wait times

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care

Uphold high standards of patient safety and quality healthcare
