Note : This position requires on-call availability for nightly batch processes including both weekdays and weekends.

Description : NC-DHHS is seeking a Senior mainframe developer to provide support for multiple efforts in NC FAST and legacy Child Welfare applications. NC FAST is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to support several mission-critical systems and processes. This role will provide technical expertise for ongoing interface operations inquiry-only applications the Child Placement and Payment System (CPPS) and Central Registry applications for the Child Welfare program. Additionally the position will support PATH NC Data Conversion activities.

Responsibilities :

Leading data conversion efforts and implementing application enhancements based on evolving business needs. The developer will diagnose and resolve application issues and provide production support using technologies such as CICS COBOL DB2 JCL VSAM stored procedures and other supporting mainframe tools.

This role also involves senior-level business and systems analysis modeling and design and programming using COBOL CICS and DB2. Duties include participating in effort estimation consulting and planning for system modifications and enhancements and monitoring technical activities to ensure alignment with schedules milestones and deliverables. The developer will also provide regular status updates time reporting and ensure quality assurance and compliance with state departmental and divisional standards.
