Position Summary : As a Registered Nurse on the Intermediate Care Unit, you will provide comprehensive and patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process. You will be responsible for collecting and documenting health data, collaborating with multidisciplinary care teams, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a supportive and safe environment. Responsibilities : Collect and document patient health data while maintaining patient privacy. Apply growth and development principles in all aspects of care. Promote a safe work environment by following Carroll Hospital and regulatory guidelines. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare teams. Formulate and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Coordinate resources for patient care and ensure readiness for patient discharge. Identify and respond to variances in patient outcomes; utilize read-back and escalation procedures appropriately. Support infection prevention and fall reduction through frequent rounding and evidence-based interventions. Administer medications safely, following established policies and the “5 Rights” protocol. Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and adaptability to institutional changes. Participate in achieving National Patient Safety Goals and quality improvement measures. Use critical thinking and clinical judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Promote patient flow and comply with timely admissions and transfers.
