TCI is seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer. This position will focus on combining technical and sales knowledge to create new opportunities while also supporting current customer relationships. The ideal candidate will help our customers solve harsh chemical and thermal challenges with TCI’s innovative line of high-performance fluoropolymer films, laminates and composites. Motivation and a competitive spirit to succeed are “must haves” for this position. We are looking for someone to provide our customers with first-class service, meet and exceed current sales goals, and achieve a high level of personal and company success. This position does have goals to achieve, but also the freedom to create personalized ways of how to best achieve them.

Since 1985, TCI has been continuously manufacturing high-quality materials designed to perform in the most challenging thermal and chemical environments. TCI’s two facilities house manufacturing space with customized coating, lamination, fabrication, film, mixing, maintenance, research and development, and laboratory departments. TCI is constantly focused on providing a supportive work culture, high quality products, short lead times, and excellent customer support.

Job Purpose :

Technical sales support identifying customer needs involving adaptation of products, equipment, and services.

Essential Job Requirements :

  • Develop a close relationship with customers to Identify current and future needs and provide technical product support and application knowledge to create high quality solutions
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through referrals, lead generation and proactive outreach
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, drawings, plans, and related customer documents; consult with engineers and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key decision makers while filling the role of a trusted advisor throughout the sales process.
  • Prepare sales reports for sales team members and leadership by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information including strategic opportunities and challenges.
  • Stay current with industry trends and competitive products through online research and trade shows.
  • Stay current on company technologies and capabilities to support customer engagement.
  • Engage in ongoing training to improve technical knowledge, sales strategies and product expertise.

Preferred Skills :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and relation ship building skills
  • Strong technical background particularly in regards to drawings, specs and translating customer needs into solutions
  • Customer service experience
  • Professional telephone etiquette
  • Knowledge of an ERP system and experience managing a typical sales cycle
  • Work Location : Remote

    Job Type : Full-time

    Compensation : $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year (Plus a competitive commission structure)

    Requirements :

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience preferred
  • Professional background in either mechanical engineering or outside sales desired.
  • Analytical ability required
  • Comfortable traveling within assigned territory (travel expectations 30%).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet travel and driving requirements.
  • Attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education and Experience :

  • 4-year college degree in a technical field
