About the Role :

Our client, a leading organization in the western suburbs of Chicago, is seeking a

Technical Accounting Manager

to join their team. This position will play a critical role in overseeing complex accounting matters, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supporting the company's financial reporting function. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and public accounting experience from a Big 4 firm.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead the research, documentation, and implementation of complex technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, leases, stock compensation, and acquisitions.

Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Prepare and review technical memos and accounting position papers.

Support quarterly and annual financial reporting processes.

Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, and operations to address accounting implications of business initiatives.

Mentor and develop junior team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree preferred.

CPA designation required.

Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with a foundation in

Big 4 public accounting .

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting standards.

Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex accounting matters to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience in a corporate accounting or technical accounting role is a plus.
