Position Overview : Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Reston, VA
We are seeking a passionate, highly motivated Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Reston, VA team. In this role, you will work directly with two experienced functional medicine physicians, delivering advanced, personalized care that integrates brain SPECT imaging, neuroinflammatory evaluations, gut-brain axis optimization, hormone balancing, IV nutrient therapy, and lifestyle medicine.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive integrative health assessments, including detailed histories, functional lab interpretation, neurological risk assessments, and brain health evaluations.Interpret and integrate brain SPECT imaging into clinical decision-making (training provided).Develop and co-manage individualized treatment plans addressing :Neuroinflammation
Autoimmune encephalopathyChronic infections (e.g., Lyme disease, PANS / PANDAS, viral reactivations)Mold toxicity / CIRSHormonal imbalances (thyroid, adrenal, sex hormones)Gut microbiome dysfunctionCognitive decline, memory loss, and early dementia syndromesMood disorders (anxiety, depression, PTSD) from a brain-body perspectiveRecommend and manage nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals (when appropriate), targeted IV therapies, and mind-body interventions.Educate and empower patients regarding brain health strategies, lifestyle modifications, detoxification, and preventive approaches.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including functional medicine physicians, psychiatric providers, and brain health coaches.Participate in weekly case conferences, clinical rounds, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.Maintain thorough and timely documentation aligned with HIPAA and Amen Clinics standards.Engage in continuous learning through functional medicine conferences, internal training, and mentorship opportunities.Qualifications and Requirements
Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain).Board-certified NP (Family, Adult, Acute Care, or Psychiatry) with strong clinical acumen.Functional or integrative medicine training preferred (e.g., IFMCP, A4M, MAPS, or equivalent).Minimum 2 years of clinical practice experience; functional or integrative medicine preferred.Experience or strong interest in neuroinflammatory disorders, immune dysfunction, and complex chronic illness is highly desirable.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills.Comfort working in a concierge / private-pay environment focused on high-touch, personalized care.Commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centered collaboration.Willingness to be trained in interpreting functional brain imaging and advanced biomarker testing.Preferred (but not required) :
IFMCP or A4M certification in progress or completed.Prior experience with complex chronic illnesses such as mold toxicity, PANS / PANDAS, or Lyme disease.IV nutrient therapy experience.Experience with functional neurology, psychiatry, or neurofeedback.What We Offer
