Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Albuquerque, NM 87114 (New Mexico nursing jobs) Unit : Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg) Unit 2W Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 23, 2026 Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Shift, 4x12-hour shifts (18 : 30 - 07 : 00); 36 or 48 hours / week options Estimated Weekly Salary : $1460-$1500 Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 Unit Size : 24 beds Scrub Color : Any color (no logos) Orientation : 36 hours onsite Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend coverage required Registered Nurse Qualifications Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (required at time of submission) Minimum 1 year of full-time Med / Surg RN experience BLS certification (required) Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system Community hospital nursing experience preferred Ability to float to similar units or provide clinical support as needed Must be able to work every other weekend Proficiency in blood product administration, heparin, insulin, isolation precautions, Med / Surg, MS / Tele, PCA, peripheral line care / management, and IV initiation / maintenance Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients on a busy Med / Surg unit Administer medications, monitor patient status, and document care using Epic EHR Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, and Radiology Float to like units or provide clinical support to other departments as needed Maintain infection control and isolation precautions in compliance with hospital standards Provide compassionate patient care and education to patients and their families Participate in unit orientation and complete required onsite training modules Albuquerque’s 87114 area offers excellent amenities, friendly neighborhoods, and easy access to outdoor recreation—making it a top destination for travel nurses seeking New Mexico healthcare jobs.
