Position Overview

The Director of Land Development will oversee all land development operations from pre-construction through community turnover. This includes managing budgets, schedules, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands every phase of residential land development, from permitting and design to construction and final acceptance, and thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of land development for multiple residential communities, including site work, infrastructure, and utilities.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and scopes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Coordinate with civil engineers, municipalities, consultants, and utility providers throughout design and permitting.
• Manage and evaluate contractors, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate closely with land acquisition, construction, and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions from raw land to buildable lots.
• Review and approve design plans, bid packages, and contracts for development projects.
• Track progress against key milestones and prepare regular reports for senior leadership.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the development team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to land development.
