Full-time and part-time (24+ hours / week) IR Techs are eligible for premium pay.
Earn an additional $12 / hour with a signed 3-year agreement and completion of department orientation.

What You’ll Do
As an Interventional Radiologic Technologist, you will assist Interventional Radiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebral, aortic, and peripheral vascular diseases using advanced radiographic and ultrasonic imaging. You will also support physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of non-vascular conditions such as biopsies, drainages, and injections. As part of the care team, you will perform as a scrub assistant or circulator while ensuring radiation safety for patients and team members.
IR Tech Job Responsibilities
Interventional Technical
Demonstrate competence in Interventional Radiology imaging equipment.Review images for technical quality and annotate accurately.Perform reconstructions of CTA scans and 3D renderings of cerebral imaging.Ensure images are properly archived in PACS and exam data is accurately entered in RIS.Patient Care, Scrub & Circulating
Perform exams according to department protocols and Radiologist preferences.Accurately input procedural data and charges in Radnet.Anticipate procedural variations and adjust to patient-specific needs.Create, maintain, and work within a sterile field.Maintain knowledge of inventory and ordering processes.Interventional Radiology Department Function
Perform interventional and diagnostic studies as assigned.Work independently while collaborating as a core member of the IR team.Partner with nursing to maintain efficient patient flow.Participate in rotational on-call coverage.Demonstrate flexibility and time management to meet patient care needs.Additional Responsibilities
Follow radiation safety practices, wear badges, and comply with testing protocols.Maintain ARRT registry, Indiana license, CPR, and continuing education.Complete annual competencies and skill validations.Participate in orientation of new staff and students.Attend 90% of staff meetings and contribute to quality improvement projects.Accurately record timekeeping and meet departmental standards.Department Effectiveness
Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned.Contribute to continuous improvement and departmental goals.Organizational Responsibilities
Attend departmental meetings and complete mandatory education on time.Maintain health requirements, licensure, and certification in good standing.Adhere to infection control, compliance, and safety policies.Be available for overtime and additional shifts when required.Demonstrate The Beacon Way through accountability, teamwork, and communication.What You Bring
Knowledge & Skills
Proficiency in aseptic technique and patient positioning.Knowledge of interventional equipment, catheters, contrast media, and supplies.Ability to operate radiographic and interventional equipment.Familiarity with radiology computer systems and PACS.Working Conditions
Hospital-based, direct patient care environment.Participation in on-call rotation with 30-minute response time required.Physical Demands
Ability to walk / stand for prolonged periods.Push carts / wheelchairs up to 50 lbs.Safely position / lift patients (max 35 lbs unassisted; over 35 lbs requires assistance).Perform CPR and maintain physical stamina for essential duties.Required Qualifications
Completion of an ARRT-approved Radiography Program.ARRT registry and Indiana State Board of Health license required.1–2 years of related experience required; Interventional Radiography experience preferred.Vascular Interventional (VI) certification preferred.The Beacon Way
