Principal Aircraft Systems Engineer

Principal Aircraft Systems Engineer - Airline Experience Required

Position Overview

The Principal Aircraft Systems Engineer will lead the engineering efforts for aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards. This role focuses on the development, integration, and maintenance of aircraft systems to enhance performance and reliability while managing complex engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of aircraft systems to meet operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards during the engineering process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems and resolve engineering challenges.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of aircraft systems to ensure reliability and performance optimization.
  • Manage engineering projects from concept to implementation, including budget oversight and resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including build specifications and maintenance programs.
  • Provide technical support for fleet maintenance, repairs, alterations, and modifications.
  • Evaluate and implement airworthiness directives and service bulletins in alignment with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in systems engineering within the airline / aviation industry.
  • FAA A&P certification preferred not required.
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering processes and methodologies.
  • Experience with aircraft systems, heavy maintenance, and fleet management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including FAR and airworthiness standards.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage engineering teams and projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset.
