Description :

The Driver's Assistant is responsible for providing recycling collection services to customers in a courteous and timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Load and unload truck daily and ensure safe organization of supplies.
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, as a representative of Seadrunar.
• Assist Driver with backing up and maneuvering truck in tight loading zones.
• Ensure accuracy of all documentation for all prepared loads.
• Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience :

Language Skills :

Ability to read, write and speak English. Read / write simple instruction, simple business reports, or memos. Communicate clearly with coworkers, vendors, customers, and management team.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and twist from the waist and knees; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.

The employee must be able to push, pull, lift, load, unload, and carry up to 50lbs of recycling materials at the customer and workplace. The employee must be able frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds of paper, cardboard, and other recycling. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and cold weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to dust, noise, and fumes found in a shop environment. Approximately 80% of work time is spent traveling locally.
