Job description

Distribution Center (DC) Associate

Adecco is currently assisting a local client recruiting for a Distribution Center (DC) Associate in ANKENY IA. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, with a starting pay rate of $18.55 / hour, plus overtime. The DC Associate has overall responsibility for receiving and moving materials within the warehouse. This integral role is committed to supporting a DC Conversion project, with duties changing daily. Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not required! For instant consideration, apply now!

Responsibilities :

  • DC Conversion Tasks : Moving shelving, moving merchandise, cleaning the warehouse, inventory control, and moving boxes.
  • Receiving and Moving Materials : Pick and stage parts for store replenishment.
  • Marks pallets with identifying store information.
  • Inventory Control : Verify inventory quantity and assist in inventory level maintenance.
  • Equipment Use : Uses lift equipment (manual pallet jack) as needed once training and certification are completed. (Note : This role will NOT require a forklift.)
  • Uses a hand-held radio frequency device (RF Scanner).
  • Maintains complete and accurate paperwork.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals.

    • Requirements :

  • 1+ year work in a distribution center (preferred, not required).
  • Committed to working the full schedule and shifts throughout the duration of the project.
  • Ability to use basic math accurately : add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

    • Shift Requirements :

  • Candidates must make a commitment to work their full scheduled shift.
  • Required overtime including weekends and holidays may be requested with little notice.
  • Flexibility to help on other shifts is a nice-to-have.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk and hear.
  • Is frequently required to stop, kneel, and crouch or stoop (e.g., bending / stooping and reaching into stationary totes to retrieve product).

    • Eligibility for Conversion :

  • Being at least 18 years of age.
  • Having a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) / Home School equivalency.
  • Being eligible to work in the United States.
