Responsibilities

As a key member of the site sales and management team, the Sourcing Specialist supports sales through maintaining proper inventory levels and driving the bid and quote process for the market. They also assist with expediting the order process to meet the seasonal demands of site replenishment. As the primary liaison between the corporate sourcing group and the market, this position identifies product needs, ensures on-time deliveries of incoming products, and accurately monitors order status between suppliers and the market.

What you'll do : What you’ll do :

Drive direct bids and quotes, product identification, and costing for Account Executives and other sales representatives.

  • Demonstrate great prospecting skills to identify new accounts and key decision makers for direct sales.
  • Manage a book of direct business consisting of accounts currently doing little or no business with SiteOne. Leverage all SiteOne resources and solution selling techniques to expand margin dollars in under-penetrated accounts and use Territory Alignment tools to prioritize and target focus accounts.
  • Proactively find upcoming landscape installation projects and work with SiteOne customers to help facilitate an award for both parties.
  • Source, negotiate and secure products that are part of the local purchasing needs.
  • Support market pricing functions.
  • Create purchase orders for SiteOne sales and service centers and ensure data accuracy.
  • Coordinate and schedule all direct shipments for market.
  • Ensure center inventory objectives are met and help maintain an "in stock position" with key product lines.
  • Maintain proactive involvement with key accounts in support of sales function.
  • Support other key functions of site operations as necessary.

Qualifications

3-5 years of purchasing experience preferred

  • 5-7 years of green industry experience, preferably in sales or sales support, and familiarity with landscape, nursery, and irrigation products also preferred.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills; ability to work under stressful seasonal demands.
  • Assertive "hands on" approach with the ability to communicate and problem solve with vendors and internal clients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Degree in Horticulture or equivalent experience preferred
