Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,384 per week in Long Beach, CA

Job Title : ICU Registered Nurse Float Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : ICU Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) Experience : Minimum 2 years in acute hospital ICU setting; LTAC experience required if no acute ICU experience. License : Current RN license required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have : Must agree to float if needed to stepdown and med surg units within the scope of practice. Weekend requirement : Every other weekend. First-timers accepted : No. Description : ICU RN Float position available. Candidates must agree to float to stepdown and med surg units as needed based on census. The shift schedule consists of 3 nights per week, from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience handling up to 2 patients is required. Candidates must have experience with the Epic charting system. Community hospital experience preferred. Candidates must have travel experience. Skills required include : Accessing and managing ports. Arterial line management. Assisting with chest tube insertion and removal. Management of BiPAP and CPAP. Blood product administration. Care of ventilated patients. Central line care and management. Chemotherapy administration. Management of chronic and acute renal failure. Continuous IV paralytics and neuromuscular blockade. Management of patients undergoing cardiac surgeries and post cardiac care. CVA and acute stroke management. Infection prevention. Interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. IV insulin protocols. Management of dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction. Obtaining 12 lead EKG / ECG. Phlebotomy. Management of PICC lines. Preparation for and post care of surgeries. Management of spinal cord injury patients. Starting and maintaining IVs. Suctioning procedures. Management including procedural sedation administration and monitoring. Understanding of ventilator management and the use of advanced cardiac devices. Organ donor management may be required.
