Job Summary
The Pharmacy Clerk assists in maintaining the Pharmacy inventory and clerical duties.
Communicates effectively with the customers, employees, and patients. Exhibits integrity,
honesty, and attention to detail. Able to comply with the HIPAA standards regarding patient
medical records.
Supervisory Responsibilities : None
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Type prescription labels accurately using the Pharmacy Computer system
- Receive refill requests directly from patients or by telephone and document accurately
- Dispense refill medication to patients and maintain refill documents
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately
- Update 3rd party billing and allergy information from patients / customers
- File new prescriptions and media treatment authorization requests
- Other related duties and tasks as assigned

Graduate of approved high school or GED equivalentCurrent BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red CrossBasic computer skills are required in order to perform basic data entryWorking Conditions / Physical Requirements
This job operates in an office setting and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion and talkingAble to lift / move up to 40 pounds, move from place to place, and stand for long periods of timeDoes not involve contact with patients or patient specimens. No exposure to blood, body fluids, non-intact skin or tissue specimensAvailable for all shifts and, when required, able to work evenings and weekendsEnsures compliance with policies and procedures related to safe work practices
