Neurology Physician

Position Type : Locum Tenens or Permanent

Start Date : ASAP Ongoing

Setting : Acute Care Academic Hospital (300 beds, including Behavioral Health and Maternity)

EMR : Meditech (legacy system)

Trauma Designation : Level I Adult Trauma, Level II Pediatric Trauma

Stroke Center : Yes Thrombectomy Capable

Opportunity Highlights :

Primary Need : Inpatient Neurologist (blended inpatient / outpatient model preferred)

Consult Volume : new consults / week; average daily census

Stroke Codes : 30 / month (1 2 per day)

Schedule : M F clinical work + 1 in 4 weekends

Call : 2 overnight calls / week (phone only; rare facility call-ins)

Support & Team Structure :

Current staffing : 1.5 FTEs in private practice (under-resourced)

Long-term vision : Build a modern Neurology Division, employ providers, integrate APP support and Teleneurology

APP support in development : 2 APPs planned, cross-trained for IP / OP

Collaborate with residents in academic teaching setting

Ideal Candidate :

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology

NY license

Comfortable with high-acuity inpatient neurology

Interest in developing a growing service line and mentoring residents

Open to locum or permanent models
