RN License : Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
\n Basic Life Support (BLS) : Valid BLS certification.
\n Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) : Valid ACLS certification.
\n Position Overview \n
Join our dynamic ICU team at Yavapai Regional Medical Center - West as a skilled RN responsible for providing expert critical care across multiple patient populations, including COVID-19, surgical, and cardiac cases. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse clinical challenges, utilizing advanced skills and critical thinking.
\n Key Responsibilities \n \n
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients in the ICU, CVICU, and PCU units, with patient ratios ranging from 1 : 1 to 1 : 4 depending on acuity.\nMonitor and interpret complex cardiac rhythms and ABGs, with the ability to troubleshoot ventilators, titrate critical drips, and manage advanced life support equipment such as ventilators, Swan-Ganz catheters, and invasive lines.\nAdminister, titrate, and manage a variety of titratable drips including vasopressors, paralytics, sedation (e.g., propofol), anti-arrhythmics, anticoagulants, and more.\nConduct procedures such as intubation using GlideScopes, and assist with complex interventions like EVD placement, chest tube insertion, and managing VAD devices.\nCollaborate with an in-house team of intensivists and nurse practitioners, participate in rapid response and code blue activations, and support unit operations as needed.\nEnsure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies.\nMaintain accurate, detailed documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes.\n\n What You Bring \n \n
Proven proficiency in ICU nursing, with experience in managing critically ill patients, including those with cardiac, neuro, and respiratory conditions.\nStrong EKG interpretation skills and experience with cardiac rhythms, including troubleshooting and weaning vents.\nExpertise in managing and titrating critical drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, and anticoagulants.\nAbility to interpret ABGs accurately and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions.\nFlexibility to float across units such as PCU and MST, providing adaptable, high-quality care in diverse settings.\nCapable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.\nWillingness to work night shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays, with a professional and adaptable attitude.\n\n Preferred Education & Experience \n \n
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. \nMinimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with a focus on cardiac, neuro, or post-surgical critical care highly desirable.\nExperience with advanced cardiac devices like Impella, TAVR, VADs, and CRRT is a plus.\nPrior experience with open heart surgery and ability to interpret complex diagnostic tests is preferred.\nAdditional certifications such as IABP and PrismaFlex CRRT experience are highly advantageous.\n\n Additional Details \n \n
Successful candidates will complete a prescreen and auto-offer process, contingent on passing a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts.\nCandidates should have recent experience and skills in neuro, cardiac, and surgical critical care, including proficiency with intubation, ventilator management, and invasive procedures.\nThis position requires a proactive, team-oriented professional committed to delivering exceptional patient care, with a focus on safety and continuous learning.\n\n\n
