About The Position

Job Title : Interventional Radiology Technician

Profession : Radiology / Cardiology

Experience :

One year's catheterization experience preferred.

Minimum of 2 years experience in a specialty required.

License :

Radiologic Tech RT in the state of practice required.

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography (ARRT-R) required.

Current Fluoroscopy license required.

Certifications :

Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification required.

Fluoroscopy (FLUORO) certification required.

Must-Have :

Ability to operate special procedure equipment.

Knowledge of radiation safety standards.

Experience with sterile techniques and infection control procedures.

Description :

Aids physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders.

Conducts invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems.

Operates x-ray and physiological equipment.

Assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Maintains equipment and records test results.

Monitors and evaluates patient vital signs throughout procedures.

Provides protection to patients in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards.

Uses collimation, patient radiation protection, and immobilization techniques.

Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures and observes infection control procedures.

Responsible for cardiac catheterization equipment and reports any malfunctions.

Performs preventive maintenance procedures and troubleshooting as required.

Completes appropriate forms before and after special procedures.

Records and maintains charges appropriately.

Performs general office duties, keeping work areas stocked and clean.

Disinfects equipment after each patient use.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
