The Applications Scientist is the sales and application person responsible for the Liquid Handling platform-based application solutions within the Americas. This person will be the technical resource to assist and support the generalist salesperson with the goal of winning the sale. An application solution is defined as a combination of software, software scripts, hardware and biology that target a specific application. These application solutions could include instrument components from one or more Business Units, collaboration with third party instrument and / or reagent vendors. The person in this position will act as an expert and knowledge source for the Tecan generalist sales team

Keeping abreast of scientific literature and maintaining an awareness of new technologies and techniques
Experience
BSc, in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Biology or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years relevant liquid handling and automation experience gained within an academic or industry setting, including writing automation applications in instrument native language or software.
Experience with VBScript, VBA, and .NET applications.
Experience with a range of molecular biology techniques including NGS sample preparation, NA purification, quantification and normalization, PCR and qPCR reaction set up.
Experience with automated instrumentation required.
Proven ability to work effectively with customers and internal associates
Practical knowledge of Windows Applications.
