Job Summary
The Liquids Meter Prover is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of liquid flow meters used in the measurement of petroleum or other liquid products. This role involves calibrating, testing, and maintaining various meters to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Examples being turbine, mass flow, DP flow or other liquid meter types. The position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety in field operating environments.
Key Responsibilities
Meter Proving and Calibration
- Provide meter-proving activities using industry-standard equipment (stationary / portable provers and master meter).
- Calibrate liquid flow meters to ensure accurate measurement of product flow.
- Verify meter performance against established standards and document results.
Data Collection and Reporting
Record and analyze meter proving data to identify discrepancies or performance issues.Prepare and retain detailed reports on calibration and proving activities for internal and customer records use.Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Inspect, maintain, and repair proving equipment to ensure operational readiness.Diagnose and resolving issues with meters or proving systems in a timely manner.Compliance and Safety
Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during proving operations.Ensure compliance with industry standards such as API (American Petroleum Institute) and ISO guidelines.Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with Hoover Energy Services operational leadership team and our valued customers to schedule and perform proving activities.Provide technical support and training to team members as needed.Qualifications and Skills
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.Experience : 2+ years of experience in liquid meter proving, calibration, or a related field.Technical Skills :Proficiency in operating proving equipment and flow meters.Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and measurement principles.Familiarity with API standards and other regulatory requirements.Soft Skills :Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Outstanding attention to customer needs.Physical Requirements : Ability to work in outdoor environments, lift heavy equipment, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.Work Environment
This role involves both fieldwork and office-based tasks. Fieldwork may include exposure to varying weather conditions, hazardous materials, and oil & gas industrial environments.
