OBGYN Hospitalist Job Details
- Assignment Type : Locum tenens physician contract (travel healthcare job)
- Location : Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania 19046-8001 (Greater Philadelphia healthcare jobs)
- Facility : 239-bed community hospital with Level III OB unit and Level III NICU
- Shifts : 24-hour in-house call (minimum 3 shifts / month; additional shifts available)
- Hours per Week : Approximately 24
- Estimated Weekly Pay : $4,668 - $5,187
- Assignment Duration : 26 weeks, with potential for ongoing locum tenens coverage
- Start Date : Late September to mid-October preferred (ASAP onboarding and quick credentialing available)
- Credentialing : Fast-track credentialing (4-6 weeks); emergency credentialing possible
OBGYN Hospitalist Physician Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBGYN physician jobs)Active and unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license or ability to obtain (Pennsylvania OBGYN jobs)Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certificationsMinimum 1 year of recent OBGYN hospitalist or labor & delivery experienceProficient in managing high-risk OB cases and performing emergency OB proceduresExperience with operative vaginal deliveries (kiwi vacuum; forceps rarely used)Ability to perform emergent GYN surgeries (e.g., ectopic pregnancies)Excellent communication and teamwork skillsKey Responsibilities
Deliver in-house OBGYN hospitalist coverage for labor & delivery, postpartum, and emergent GYN casesManage labor and deliveries, including C-sections and scheduled OB proceduresRound on postpartum patients and perform circumcisions as neededRespond to GYN emergencies from the ER and perform unplanned / emergent GYN surgeriesCollaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine, neonatology, anesthesia, and nursing teamsDocument patient care in OB Trace View, Sorian, and other hospital EMR systemsComply with hospital policies (no tubal ligations, terminations, or birth control at discharge)Work in a collegial environment with 24 / 7 in-house anesthesia and neonatology supportWhy Choose Meadowbrook, PA?
