About Team North King County : Team North King County's office is located in Bellevue, WA and is one of 17 local audit teams within the Office of the Washington State Auditor. The team is responsible for conducting audits of state and local governments in King and Snohomish counties. The team conducts accountability, federal grant compliance and financial statement audits for several entity types that include cities, school districts, water district, hospitals, risk pools, and fire districts. Within the agency, Team North King County promotes the Office's mission and values, and a professional, respectful, and constructive work environment. Our team performs timely, high quality risk-based audits in a collaborative environment along with promoting empowerment, acceptance, respect and trust.
Duties
Assistant State Auditor 4 ($6,735 - $9,065) Under minimal supervision, serves as the Auditor-In-Charge of the largest and / or most complex financial or compliance audits of local and / or state government entities. Assumes full responsibility for the planning, conducting, and documentation of risk-based audits. Leads other staff assigned to the audit, makes work assignments, reviews workpapers, and provides mentoring and coaching to develop the skills of assigned audit staff. Ensures assigned audits are planned and performed under comprehensive national performance standards including : Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Generally Accepted Governmental Auditing Standards (GAGAS), the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-133, Audits of State and Local Government, and SAO Audit Policies. Audits must be of a quality to pass internal Quality Control Reviews, and National Peer Review.
Qualifications
A minimum of two years' experience as an Assistant State Auditor 3, or equivalent professional experience / education meeting the eligibility of the ASA3 role and the minimum professional experience requirements for this role. Ability to demonstrate key competencies of the position. Government accounting or auditing experience is preferred.
