The Department of Management (DOM), Division of Information Technology (DoIT) provides adaptable, secure, and cost-effective technology services and solutions across the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (Iowa HHS). We manage all Iowa HHS IT assets, projects, and resources. We are responsible for delivering technology and expertise in support of the Iowa HHS mission to provide high quality programs and services that protect and improve the health and resiliency of individuals, families, and communities.
The Bureau of Architecture and IT Strategy, part of DoIT, is seeking an Enterprise Architect with strong Business Architecture skills to help guide the Agency in its overall transformation journey. This role will facilitate alignment between IT and business by engaging stakeholders in analysis of current state and planning of future state. The Enterprise Architect will discover, document, and communicate how relationships between people, processes, technology, and other factors impact business outcomes. This role will be a key player in maturing the Bureau's portfolio of services that will allow the enterprise to connect strategy to execution and build the EA value proposition. The Enterprise Architect will also support solutions design in project-driven and product-driven delivery models by developing and applying architectural standards, reference patterns, principles, and guidance.
Responsibilities :
- Develop IT strategy, policy, standards, and guidance through our Governance model.
- Assist with establishing a Business Architecture practice that delivers consumable Business Architecture guidance focused on timeliness, intuitiveness, and actionability.
- Facilitate Architecture Review Board (ARB) processes and other governance activities.
- Provide perspective on the readiness of the organization to change and innovate through scenario planning.
- Support portfolio modernization and solutions design / delivery by developing and applying minimal viable architectures.
- Support application rationalization activities.
- Develop roadmaps to communicate the execution of strategy.
- Build models, views, and other architectural artifacts within our EA Tool Bizzdesign to facilitate strategic decision making and enable a common view of our enterprise.
- Build and mature collaborative relationships across our architecture community and product delivery teams by providing sound architectural guidance and consultation.
- Conduct research and evaluations for technology procurement requests.
- Contribute to the review of Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) artifacts.
- Support the evolution of services provided by the Bureau of Architecture and IT Strategy.
- Communicate the Enterprise Architecture value proposition.
- Other duties as assigned.
