POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Beverage Operations is responsible for the leadership, execution, and performance of the Beverage Department across all outlets at Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino, including casino bars, service bars, floor service, and beverage operations supporting banquets and special events. Reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage, this position ensures all beverage operations meet financial, service, and regulatory standards while aligning with STRC's mission of delivering exceptional guest service.
Provides day-to-day leadership to beverage management staff, drives operational excellence, oversees financial performance, and ensures compliance. This position requires strong leadership skills, financial and business acumen, and deep knowledge of beverage operations within a casino or resort environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
- Direct daily operations of all beverage outlets, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance with established standards.
- Supervise and support Beverage Managers, Supervisors, and team members in the execution of beverage programs and service delivery.
- Ensure bar operations meet guest satisfaction, cleanliness, safety, and brand standards.
- Support the Director of Food & Beverage in implementing departmental strategies, goals, and initiatives.
Financial & Business Management
Manage beverage budgets, forecasts, labor planning, and financial reporting.Monitor beverage costs, inventory, and labor to achieve profitability targets.Recommend cost-control measures and operational improvements to maximize revenue.Assist the Director with vendor negotiations and purchasing agreements.Team Development
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate beverage management and supervisory staff.Maintain MAST, or applicable Alcohol Service Certification, for all team members.Establish clear expectations, conduct performance reviews, and provide consistent and constructive feedback, both formal and informal.Build a positive work culture that fosters accountability, teamwork, and high performance.Guest Service Excellence
Ensure all beverage outlets deliver consistently exceptional guest experiences.Respond to and resolve escalated service concerns in a timely and professional manner.Continuously monitor guest feedback and recommend service improvements.Compliance & Safety
Maintain compliance with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission regulations, Washington State liquor laws, and Health Codes.Uphold internal controls, policies, and accountability systems to safeguard assets.Investigate and report any compliance concerns or irregularities to the Director.Other

Education & Experience Required :
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.Minimum seven (7) years of progressive beverage operations experience in a casino, resort, or multi-outlet environment, with at least five (5) years in a senior management role. A combination of education and extensive relevant experience may be considered.Strong background in operational leadership, financial management, and staff development.Demonstrated success in driving guest satisfaction and revenue growth through effective beverage programming and execution.Knowledge & Skills Required :
Comprehensive knowledge of beverage operations, mixology, and industry trends.Strong financial and business acumen with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.Proficient in procurement software systems (e.g., Stratton Warren, BirchStreet, or similar) for ordering, vendor management, and inventory control.Experience with beverage delivery and monitoring systems (e.g., Berg or equivalent) to manage pour control, loss prevention, and integration with POS.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficient in MS Office (advanced Excel), POS, and inventory system experience.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable Gaming License through the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.Must have and maintain valid MAST Liquor permit as well as a Food Handlers Card.
