Nurse Assistant Job, 12 hour day shift (7a-7 : 30p), Med Surg 6 West

Powers Health is hiring a Nurse Assistant for 6 West to work 12 hour days at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.

6 West is a 26 bed medical / surgical floor with all private rooms including 6 negative pressure isolation rooms where the nursing staff provides high quality, individualized care to patients with a variety of chronic and acute medical / surgical conditions and gynecology overflow patients. The minimum age of patients admitted is 12 years of age, but the average age is 63 years. The unit has approximately 75% of the patients being surgical patients and 25% being general medical patients.

Nurse Assistant Roles and Responsibilities :

• Performs various designated patient care activities necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort and safety of the patient in accordance with Hospital Policy and Nursing Service Standards.
• Assists patients with ADLs, ambulation, mobility, positioning, turning and lifting while maintaining all Safety Patient Care Practices.
• Assists patients with transfers and discharges.
• Assists patients with nutritional needs ie passing and collecting food trays, feeding patients, providing fresh water every shift, assist with maintenance of special diets and between meal nourishment.
