Journeyman Electrician

Key Responsibilities :

Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, motors, and other electrical components.

Perform routine inspections to identify potential hazards or malfunctions in electrical systems.

Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.

Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Support the maintenance team in performing preventative maintenance tasks on electrical equipment.

Follow safety protocols, including lockout / tagout (LOTO) procedures, when working on electrical systems.

Document work performed in the maintenance system, including repairs, inspections, and material usage.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Assist higher-level electricians in complex electrical projects as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education : High school diploma or GED. Vocational training in machining or related fields is preferred.

Experience : Minimum of one year of industrial electrical experience, preferably in a mill or manufacturing environment.

Skills : Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components. Ability to read electrical diagrams and troubleshoot minor issues. Understanding of safety procedures and electrical codes. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
