Position Summary :

Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients in collaboration with a licensed physician and within the scope of practice of the collaborating physician and in compliance with the Nebraska Physician Assistance Practice Act.

Performs a variety of specialized and professional physician assistant duties requiring knowledge of emergency patient assessment and management. Work will rotate through all areas of the Hospital with emphases on emergency department (ED), Observation (OBS), and Acute / Swing Bed .

Duties & Responsibilities :

• One of three Physician Assistants covering Emergency Department / and as a Hospitalist 24 / 7 / 365. We offer flexible scheduling options and are open to creative arrangements that support work-life balance.
• Direct admissions, daily rounding, progress notes and discharges on Acute, observation and swing bed patients.
• Performs appropriate and accurate emergency medicine specific history and physical examination and initiate treatment plans including laboratory and radiograph ordering, reviewing the findings with the physician and completing treatment of the patient.
• Performs appropriate emergency procedures.
• Presents Morbidity + Mortality cases when requested by collaborating physician.
• Performs patient call backs and administrative tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Assess, treat and transfer trauma patients.

Qualifications & Skills :

Interpret ECGs independently and immediately identify life threatening changes.
