Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our outpatient lab drawing stations in Exeter. The ideal candidate will have prior outpatient experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing while maintaining a professional and patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and other specimen collection procedures safely and efficiently.
  • Verify patient identity using two identifiers and ensure proper labeling of all specimens.
  • Collect, process, and prepare specimens for transport to the main laboratory or reference labs.
  • Enter orders, test codes, and patient information accurately into the laboratory information system.
  • Maintain adequate phlebotomy supplies and ensure cleanliness and organization of the outpatient collection area.
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Respond to patient inquiries courteously, providing clear and compassionate explanations of procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Training : Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
  • Experience : Minimum of 2+ years of phlebotomy experience, preferably in an outpatient setting.
  • System Experience : Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems.
  • Must have been separated from Client for at least 6 months to be considered.
  • Certifications (if any)

  • Phlebotomy Technician Certification (ASCP, NHA, AMT, or equivalent) – Required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA – Required.
  • Education : High School

    Certification : Basic Life Support , Phlebotomy Technician Certification
