Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our outpatient lab drawing stations in Exeter. The ideal candidate will have prior outpatient experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing while maintaining a professional and patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and other specimen collection procedures safely and efficiently.
- Verify patient identity using two identifiers and ensure proper labeling of all specimens.
- Collect, process, and prepare specimens for transport to the main laboratory or reference labs.
- Enter orders, test codes, and patient information accurately into the laboratory information system.
- Maintain adequate phlebotomy supplies and ensure cleanliness and organization of the outpatient collection area.
- Follow all infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
- Respond to patient inquiries courteously, providing clear and compassionate explanations of procedures.
Required Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent.Training : Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.Experience : Minimum of 2+ years of phlebotomy experience, preferably in an outpatient setting.System Experience : Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems.Must have been separated from Client for at least 6 months to be considered.Certifications (if any)
Phlebotomy Technician Certification (ASCP, NHA, AMT, or equivalent) – Required.BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA – Required.Education : High School
