Animator - Media Production Analyst 3 with Security Clearance

Overview

Creative technical animator with expertise in photorealistic rendering using Houdini 20.5, specializing in presenting complex concepts in visually compelling, understandable, and informative ways to join our communications team here at Space Park. The role reports to The Creative Services Manager of Animation & Graphic Design for the SSSD Communications organization. Location : Redondo Beach, CA campus.

Responsibilities

  • Creative technical animation and photorealistic rendering work.
  • Present complex concepts in visually compelling, understandable, and informative ways for the communications team.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Services Manager of Animation & Graphic Design and the SSSD Communications organization.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple deliverables.
  • Portfolio of work showcasing breadth of animation, compositing, and data visualization capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Experience with node-based compositing software; Nuke is preferred.
  • Practical knowledge and experience with a professional animation pipeline.
  • Experience with basic business and creative software (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Portfolio of work showcasing breadth of animation, compositing, and data visualization capabilities.

    • Basic Qualifications (Level 3)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with 6+ years of related professional experience, or a Master’s degree with 4+ years of related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

    • Basic Qualifications (Level 4)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with 10+ years of related professional experience, or a Master’s degree with 8+ years of related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

    • Additional Qualifications

  • Active TS / SCI security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Sketching or drawing skills are a plus.
  • Good time management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to learn and keep current with new trends, software, and techniques.
  • Aerospace and Defense experience is desirable.
