Design Engineer

Summary / Objective

The Design Engineer collaborates within a dynamic team to meet project goals and timelines, requiring strong organization, attention to detail, and flexibility to manage multiple assignments.

Essential Functions

• Prepares / modifies 2D / 3D drawings and layouts using MasterCam, Top Solid Design / Nesting, Lectra, and SolidWorks.
• Develops specifications including cost estimates and bill of materials.
• Creates nesting plans for production and designs seating structures / programs.
• Presents designs via graphics or scale models and coordinates workload to meet objectives.
• Interprets reference documents / drawings and ensures compliance with design standards.
• Reviews calculations, models, and drawings for quality and accuracy.
• Assists with production issues and collects / delivers design data at job sites or client offices.
• Maintains frequent contact with production, purchasing, and supervisor.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

Full-time, 40 hours / week, Monday-Friday; occasional weekends / overnight work.
