Duties

• Supervise, care for, and provide corrective treatment to inmates.
• Guide and mentor less experienced Correctional Officers.
• Maintain institutional security and promote the health and welfare of inmates.
• Enforce regulations related to facility security, inmate accountability, and conduct to ensure judicial sanctions are effectively carried out.
• Possibly authorized to carry firearms and utilize physical force, including deadly force, to maintain order.
• Be prepared to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, especially during emergencies or high workload periods.
• Utilize provided information from various resources such as post orders and internal communications to effectively perform duties.
• Demonstrate flexibility and initiative in resolving problem situations.
