About The Position

Job Title : Pediatric ER RN

Profession : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 Hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years required

License : Pending license accepted

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, ENPC required

Must-Have :

• ENPC certification prior to signing
• Pediatric experience within an Adult / Pediatric combined ED or a Pediatric ED

Description :

No requests for time off during the following periods : December 12-15 or December 24-25.

COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with completion of exemption form signed by a provider for medical.

Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed.

Weekend days consist of Saturday and Sunday; weekend nights include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Travelers are expected to work per staffing needs.

Pediatric ED staff occasionally float to the Pediatric admission floors.

During high census periods, admission holds may be boarded in the Pediatric ED for longer than normal.

Preferred experience includes trauma and resuscitation.

Patient ratios are generally 1 : 4, but can increase when busy.

Travelers are expected to work two out of the three winter holiday bundles.

Pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, starting IVs, interpretation of 12-lead EKG, and cardiac dysrhythmias are essential skills.

Interdisciplinary support is available in areas such as respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary.

Must possess the ability to manage arterial lines, blood product administration, central line care, gastric tube placement, and procedural sedation administration / monitoring.

Travelers are encouraged to ensure they meet all requirements before submission.
