We are creating a new position within the organization to support our continued growth. This new position will have the following duties to support the company's efforts in the Houston market. This position will report to the Service Manager.

Duties :

  • Lead Technician for servicing HVAC equipment.
  • Work closely with sales to establish a solid customer base to build from.
  • Develop relationships with vendors and sub-contractors in the market area.
  • Assist in defining the training, material, and tools needed to support our technician maintenance base.
  • Work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.
  • Ability to procure new technicians in the market area. Train and develop them into the future leaders in our company.
  • Take a leadership role in the development of junior technicians.
  • Be available to work some nights or weekends to service the emergency needs of our customers.
  • Install, maintain and repair HVAC Systems for both commercial and industrial customers. Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC, boiler and chiller systems of all types, air and water cooled, for both commercial and industrial customers.
  • Maintain company vehicle and report any mechanical issues. Vehicles should be washed on a regular basis.
  • Maintain proper stock, including arts, tools, and safety equipment.
  • Document all equipment installations including : manufacturer, model, serial number, necessary test measurements, and pictures.
  • Diagnose service issues, calibrate system to manufacturer's recommendations , and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is needed to correct.
  • Communicate to dispatch, parts, procurement, supervisors and managers, as needed, to keep company and customers informed about work progressions.
  • Provide detailed, complete, and timely paperwork as required.
  • Participate in company provided training opportunities.
  • Identify and report to supervisor / manager potential opportunities for additional business.

Requirements :

  • 10 plus years' proven record in maintenance, troubleshooting and correcting HVAC, boiler, and chiller service issues.
  • Good analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to train junior technicians.
  • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
  • Excellent computer skills to include proficiency with MS Word, excel, outlook and ability to learn to operating systems the company may implement.
  • Work with customers as the face of the company to deliver and exceed their expectations.
  • Safety focused individual with ability to lead safety stand downs, toolbox topics, etc.
  • Other Requirements :

  • Well groomed, neat appearance.
  • Valid Social Security number, driver's license, clean driving record, must pass background check.
  • Must have the ability to get a TWIC card.
  • Must pass required company drug test(s).
  • Lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders, work from heights.
  • Observe all company procedures and safety rules.
  • Ability to be approved as contractor at Children's Hospitals
