The GeriatricNursing Assistant (GNA) performs direct patient care under the directsupervision of a Registered Nurse. TheGeriatric Nursing Assistant performs a variety of individualized patient careactivities including bathing, dressing, feeding and transporting as well asrelated non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needsand comforts of the geriatric patient population.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities :
Maintains patient confidentiality of all residentsAssists residents with activities of daily living and feedingPerforms transfers and lifts per facility protocolCompletes timely and thorough documentation in the facility EMR charting systemProvides support and companionship to patientsAssists residents with use of assistive devicesSafeguards the client / patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautionsNotifies the supervising nurse of any abnormal findings or conditionsCleans and organizes patient roomsAssists with putting away residents laundry and belongingsAssists nurse with admission and discharge / s to unitPrepares patients for appointments or transfersMinimum Requirements :
Active CNA with Geriatric Certification, requiredExperience with memory care patients, preferredPrefer one year of geriatric nursing assistant experience as a certified nursing assistant within the last three years.Graduate from certified nursing assistant program with subsequent documentation as a certified nursing assistant per state requirements with proof of verification as being an active certification and having the ability to be work with geriatrics per state requirements.Knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of clerical functions.Complies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicableCurrent CPRTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit / provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageNext Steps :
